Walk and Talk

Christian and I met up with Heather and Shane this week for coffee and a walk along North Creek Trail at the Town Center. We grabbed our Starbucks and headed out only to be greeted by rain! So we changed plans and sat outside Starbucks on a bench with our strollers and chatted.

Christian and Shane
We finally got some pictures of the boys together. We hope that these are just the beginning of many pictures to come in the following years.
What a blessing it is to have dear friends with babies so close in age!

He has recently discovered that his hands taste DELICIOUS!

4 months

I am 4 months old!
4 Month Stats
Weight: 13 pounds 8 ounces (15%)
Length: 25 7/8" (78%)
Head Circumference: 16 3/8" (55%)

**I am a bit late on this post...oops!...So these stats are for 4 1/2 months
*** Also note we are no longer going by his adjusted age! He is on the actual 4 month old scale :)
Fun side note- while we were at our 4 month appointment we ran into Christian's first roommate from the NICU! Small world!

Look I can hold it myself!

Clothes: Christian is in 0-3 month and 3 month clothes. The newborn clothes are officially all packed away :( They grow so fast!

Yes he looks cross-eyed but I can't help but love it!
Playtime: Christian is starting to do a bit more tummy time, but still only lasts at most 10 minutes before he throws a HUGE fit! He loves playing with his blocks and on his new bouncer from Nana. We sing songs all day and now he tries to sing along by cooing and trying to mimic me. :) These days it has been all about "Ho Ho Ho Hosanna", "Itsy Bitsy Spider", and "This is the Day the Lord Has Made". Christian is also very ticklish and has rediscovered his love of his activity mat. This boy is constantly kicking and moving!

Love Him!
Development: Christian "accidentally" rolled over last week so technically he rolled over once but hasn't again since. He is smiling, babbling and starting to giggle. He has started reaching for things as well: toys, my hair, jewelry, etc. He is getting better at holding his head up while on his tummy but is not quite there yet!

Sleep: Christian sleeps from 7:30/8:00- 10:00; 10:30-6:00, and 6:00/6:30 to 8:00!
Naps... hit and miss :)

Firsts:
* blow out...and second!
* week without Dad (we missed him while he was in Africa!)
* roll over, technically
*Easter (pics to come) and meeting most extended family

Happy Birthday Nana!

On my mom's birthday, Kyla and I (with Grayson and Christian in tow) got to take her out for the day. Being able to go out in the middle of the day on a weekday is such an amazing perk of being a stay at home mom! We started out by surprising my mom with a trip to Glassybaby in Seattle to pick out her very own as her birthday present. It was such a fun experience testing out each one and watching them being made right there in the store! We then went to lunch in U Village at Grace Kitchen. It was delicious! That evening the whole family got together at Red Robin for dinner and, of course, mud pie!

We have almost this exact same picture of Grayson at this age at my mom's birthday 2 years ago! (No fries were eaten by the baby!)

Happy Birthday Mom!

Ready for my walk!

Whenever we get the chance, I like to take C out for walks. It's great exercise for me, gets us out of the house and Christian gets to take in new sights and sounds. Since it has been s cold, I get to bundle him up in his cosy bear suit! He looks just too darn cute!
This is how he looks about 5 seconds into the walk... fast asleep! :)

Three Months Old

Christian is 3 months old!

This has been the month of doctor visits. Thankfully, we have a WONDERFUL pediatrician who has come alongside us to give Christian the best care. With pesky diaper rashes, torticollis, "flat head", body rash, acid reflux... (whew!) these first time parents have been kept on their toes! :)

Three Month Stats:
Weight: 11 pounds 5 ounces

Clothes: I have finally had to put a few newborn size clothes away! Mostly due to length. But it has been so fun to now pull out his three month clothes and enjoy a whole new batch of outfits! We were, and continue to be, so blessed with an abundance of gifts which has resulted in a ton of adorable outfits. So currently Christian is in a combo of newborn, 0-3 month and 3 month clothes. He also moved up to size 1 diapers this month!

Play time: Social smiles have brought a whole new meaning to playtime! It is so fun to see Christian smile and coo as we sing, read books, play with Scout and look at his toys. He still hates tummy time! Christian has also been having play dates with his friends Shane and Gabe and of course Grayson!

Sleep: Since C was diagnosed with acid reflux last month, we have still struggled to get consistent sleep patterns going. Laying down was just too painful for him, poor guy! Well this month he was prescribed a wedge to sleep on. Kerry lovingly calls this the "cheese" or "cheese block". It has definitely helped him sleep at night by keeping him at a 45 degree angle. He now goes to bed at 9, wakes up at 2 and 6 to eat and is up for the day around 8:30.

Development: As mentioned above, our pediatrician and I noticed that Christian tends to tilt his head to the right and has a slight flat spot on his left due to his position in the womb. This tilt is called torticollis and we recently started seeing a physical therapist who is helping by showing us exercises to do with C to build his flexibility on his left side. Christian is starting to hold his head up more, mostly for short periods of time before it wears him out! He also has started "talking" like crazy which has been a lot of fun to pretend to have conversations with him. :) Overall he is developing right on track for his adjusted age.
