Stitch Fix 5

What is Stitch Fix?
Stitch Fix is the first fashion retailer to blend expert styling, proprietary technology and unique product to deliver a shopping experience that is truly personalized for you. Simply fill out the Stitch Fix Style Profile and our personal stylists will handpick a selection of five clothing items and accessories unique to your taste, budget and lifestyle. You can buy what you like and return the rest!

For this Fix, I asked for pieces that would transition my wardrobe into fall as well as a pair of everyday jeans that were not distressed and a pair of colored jeans. My stylist did not disappoint! I really felt like she listened to me, got my style and fulfilled my requests. I still have my account set so that I don't receive accessories which I love because then I get more clothing options.
Here is what I got:
Item
Colibri Polka Dot Print Top
Jayson Mixed Material Knit Top
Colibri Plaid Printed Tab-Sleeve Shirt
Jimmy Skinny Jean
Giovanni Straight Leg Jean

I decided to keep all the items in this fix! The jeans both fit great and don't even need to be hemmed. For a girl who is short, this is a big deal! :) When you get all the items in a fix, you save 25%, often resulting in a free item! This time getting all 5 items saved me over $80!

If you haven't tried Stitch Fix yet, and want to try it, sign up here and I will get a little credit toward my next fix!

10 months

Stats:
Weight:

Clothes: Calvin is wearing 6-9 month and 9 month clothes and size 3 diapers. He has been borrow a bunch of clothes that Grayson wore so between those and Christian's hand me downs, Calvin's wardrobe is full of memories!

Eating: Calvin is all about feeding himself this month. I feel like meals should be promptly followed by a bath! This was the month of introducing more finger foods. He loves cut up banana, pear and avocado, rice, quinoa, cut up sweet potato, pastina, lentils, toast, puffs, teething biscuits, and little creamies. He is still on a no dairy and egg diet. We tried to add in dairy this month and poor buddy had a rough few days. :(
Sleep:  Calvin takes two naps a day, around 9:30 and 1:30, each lasting 1-2 hours. He goes to bed at night by 7:30 and usually eats once in the early morning and wakes up for the day around 7:30. I think he has been teething or going through a growth spurt because the night wakings have been increased to 2 or 3 times a night recently. Cal also only wants to be put to bed by me :)
Playtime and Activities: Now that Calvin can sit, crawl, and stand while holding on to things, he is so active! He lives his activity table, activity cube, exersaucer and just being given a bin of toys. Bubbles are the best thing in his mind and we have started doing some art activities which has been really fun. He is starting to not like being in his jumper anymore and would rather just be crawling around and exploring!

Development: Calvin is crawling everywhere, sitting, standing while holding on to something and starting to master pulling himself up to stand. He now has two teeth, waves bye bye, gives kisses and has no interest in doing sign language. :) We "think" he said his first word this month… and of course it was… Dada! When Kerry got home from work, he picked up Cal and Cal said "Dada!" I think I am in denial that both my boys have said Dada before Mama.

Firsts and Fun:
* Standing
* Two teeth
* Started MOPS
* Stayed with Nana and Papa while we spent a weekend in Vegas!

First Day of Preschool

It's official! I have a preschooler. Oh my goodness, when did he grow up so fast?! This momentous occasion called for a fun photo shoot and a "superhero" sign as Christian called it. He is such a ham!

9 Months

What a month this has been sweet Calvin! You have changed so much and much to our dismay are growing up very quickly :)

Stats:
Weight: 15lb 15oz (8%)
Length: 28.94 in (95%) we think this was an off measurement :)
Head Circumference: 17.52 in (58%)

Clothes: Calvin is currently wearing a combination of 6 month, 6-9 month and 9 month sleepers. He has also moved up to size three diapers.

Eating: This kids loves to eat and will eat just about anything that he is given! He used a straw cup this month for the first time and is eating three meals a day. Currently he is eating: breast milk, sweet potato, carrots, apples, prunes, blueberries, zucchini, spinach, peas, green beans, banana, avocado, chicken, apricots, peaches…. He is still having purees for his meals but will eat puffs and coconut milk creamies as well. These have been a godsend so that I can take a quick bite of my own meal in-between feeding him!

Sleep:  I somehow managed to score an amazing sleeper this go around! If you remember anything about Christian's sleep habits, I think we deserved a little reprieve with this child! Calvin is taking two naps a day, usually for 1 1/2- 2 hours each. HIs first wake time is 2 hours and his second wake time is 2 1/2 hours. He goes to bed around 7:30 and sometimes wakes up at 6:00/6:30 to eat but usually goes back to sleep for another hour. At the very end of this month he has been fighting a double ear infection (again!) so he hasn't been sleeping quite as well but this is his normal pattern.

Playtime and Activities: It has been so fun to watch Calvin discover how he can play with his toys in a whole new way, thanks to his new found skill of sitting! He is loving his large activity cube and stacking and knocking over blocks. He also can army crawl around to explore which he thinks is pretty neat. He still loves the exersaucer but no longer plays much on the activity mat. Calvin spent a week at the cabin this month and enjoyed being out by the lake.

Development: Calvin finally got the hang of sitting just at the end of this last month. He is army crawling everywhere and hardly ever stays still. He is working on his two bottom teeth but none have poked through so far. He is also starting to wave "bye bye" and will give big, open mouth, slobbery kisses.  He is jabbering a lot and repeating consonants but no official words yet!

Firsts and Fun:
* Weeks at the cabin
* Sitting
*Army crawling
* Waving  bye
* Cutest dimples you ever did see!

Stitch Fix #4

I really love when I hear that my next Stitch Fix is coming. For this fix, I asked for items for my upcoming weekend away in Vegas with the hubby. It was so fun to reeve clothes for a specific trip and my stylist did a great job at giving me a variety of looks and options that would fit our trip.

41HAWTHORN Walt Skirt
Kept!

This skirt ended up being one of my favorite pieces. One of my favorite parts was that my stylist suggested that I dress it down with the Market and Spruce Sam High Low Tee for a more casual look but also suggested another Fun2FUn lace top that I had received in a previous fix for a more dressy look. They know my wardrobe, how cool is that?!

Skies are Blue Anya Split Neck Blouse
Kept!
I loved this top and thought I could throw a cardigan over it and still be able to wear it into the fall. The pattern was really fun and this was Kerry's favorite.

Papermoon Violetta Scalloped Blouse
Kept!

I couldn't get a good picture of this one to show the detail but I loved the back as the top layer split. This top was a great price when I got all 5 items with the discount so I kept it. It will be a fin top to add into the summer/spring rotation.

Skies are Blue Textured Short
Kept- after discount they were free!

Ok I still don't know about these shorts but they were free after my 25% discount after keeping all five items. I think they could still be cute with the right outfit but they are out of my comfort zone. I guess Vegas it the place to try them and I can see why my stylist added them to this fix.

Market and Spruce Same High Low Tee
Kept!

I didn't get a good picture of this one but This tee is a great basic. It was a bit more expensive than I would normally choose but I can really dress it up or down and I think it will become a staple in my closet.

So overall, I think this was another win! I did keep all five items. I am finding that if you really like three of the items then the other two basically pay for themselves ha! I am now updating my pinterest board for fall and am looking forward to some new looks for the new season. If you haven't tried it yet, I encourage you to try Stitch Fix!

8 months

Calvin, how are you 8 months old?! Holy smokes time is flying by….

Stats:
Weight 15.2 lbs

Clothes: Calvin is wearing 6 month clothes with a few 6-9 month shirts thrown into the mix. He is still sporting his size 2 diapers in the awesome patterns of rockstar guitars, bananas and baseballs. :) I love the Honest Company patterns!

Eating: Calvin really loves food, he doesn't always eat a lot of but I have yet to find a food that he doesn't like. It is always a messy production during eating times too because he is very anti-bib. Try and put a bib on this kid and it is instantly in his mouth, covering his entire face. He is eating: breast milk, oatmeal, bananas, mango, pear, prunes, applesauce, carrots, avocado, peas, butternut squash, green beans and sweet potato. We tried a small piece of a puff once that didn't go over so well so we are sticking to purees for now. He usually eats 2 "meals" a day

Sleep: He takes 3 naps a day, sometimes only 2 if they are long or he sleeps in late, He has been taking a solid 1 1/2- 2 hour morning nap and his wake time is 2 -2 1/2 hours. Cal goes to sleep around 8 and usually is up for the day around 7 or 8. He wakes up 1- 2 times per night to eat usually in the early morning. He is now sleeping in his new wearable blanket.

Playtime and Activities: Poor guy spent a big chunk of this month being sick with bronchiolitis and ear infections so we spent a lot of the month at home trying to get better. (Christian was also sick with a different virus!) With the warm weather, we try to get out as much as possible to the park or just play in the pool in our backyard. Calvin went on a swing for the first time and loved it! He was almost lulled to sleep! :) He loves to play in the exersaucer and jumper and exploring while he rolls around on his tummy.

Development: Calvs has got the roll to move down! He does not stay in one place for very long and rolls to get to toys, people, etc. He will also turn in a circle while on his tummy. We are still working on sitting as he just doesn't get the hang of that yet so we practice everyday. No teeth yet but I keep expecting to see them any day.

Firsts and Fun:
* First swing ride
* First 4th of July
* First antibiotics :(
* First Preview Services for Redemption Church!
* Uncle Andrew and Auntie Kat's Wedding

7 months

Sweet Cal Pal, you are seven months old!

Weight: 15.8 lb. (not super accurate as it was a week late and on our bathroom scale!)

Clothes: Calvin is wearing 6 month clothes and size 2 diapers. Even though some 3-6 month clothes fit, I boxed them all up at once so I don't have multiple sizes out at once.

Eating: Hello World of Solid Foods! While Calvin is mostly getting just breast milk, he got his first taste of real food this past month. It was actually a funny story- well it is funny now looking back on it… At Calvin's six month appointment, we got the green light to try and put him into child care- he was still susceptible to get sick easily since he was a preemie but we were finally out of the height of RSV and flu season. So the following Sunday we had a member meeting and I decided to put Calvin upstairs in child care with a mission team who was watching kids. When I picked him up an hour later, the sweet girl smiled and said "He got a little fussy so we gave him his fruit and veggie pouch and he was much happier!" I am sure a look of panic washed over my face… fruit and veggie pouch?! I stumbled out that he had never had any food before but its ok, grabbed Calvin and quickly walked to Kerry where I just started to cry. :( I was just in shock that my sweet baby had eaten one of Christian's pouches that contained about 8 different foods including kale, mango, apple and chia seeds! He was totally fine but what a way to be introduced to foods! Ha! We have his tummy a week to recover before we tried some rice cereal and banana. I was also given the go ahead to try and add back in egg to my diet but Calvin's tummy was a hot mess with that so once again we took a week off of solids after I took egg back out. So Calvin's intro into the world of foods has been adventurous and exciting. Officially, now he is eating breast milk, oatmeal, banana and avocado.

Sleep: Calvin has gotten into a pretty good groove, which I am enjoying while it is here because I know everything will probably change in two weeks! He sleeps in the swaddle with his arms out.
Wake Up: Around 8
Naps: 10ish, 1ish, 4ish (wake time is 2-2 1/2 hours and somedays he takes two long naps instead of three)
Bedtime: Around 8:00 with one wake up around 4/5

Playtime and Activities: We got back into the routine of going to the Y this month and Calvin does so well there. He is such an easy going boy who is happy to roll around on his activity mat, hang out in his exersaucer or jumper or snuggle being held. He has been playing with his activity cube, scout, books and anything he can chew on.

Development: It amazing how I was concerned at his 6 month check up about head control but now he is doing tummy time like a champ and rolling over both ways like crazy. He will babble, giggle, reach for toys and has been working on sitting with help.

Firsts and Fun:
*First taste of food
*First family trip to Cannon Beach
* Cabin trips

* Loves to suck on his two fingers on his right hand

Stitch Fix #3

It feels a little bit like Christmas morning when that brown and blue box arrives on my porch. And it always comes right at nap time so I can immediately open it and give it my undivided attention. Perfection.

This is my third time receiving a fix from Stitch Fix and I still love it just the same, if not even more. One thing I realized what I love so much about it is not only is it convenient but the stylists really seen to understand my body type and size so pretty much everything I try on fits me well and so I feel good trying it on. They have also done a great job picking items that match my style and my lifestyle.

So what was in box #3?

I asked my stylist for items that would help transition my wardrobe into summer. At first glance I was a bit disappointed in the lack of color I saw- a lot of black and white. But that was soon set aside when I realized that I loved everything in the box, despite the color choices.

 41Hawthorn Montreal Arrow Printed Henley Blouse (KEEP- sort of)
I loved this shirt and the only problem was that I have one hanging in my closet that is almost identical! So a friend actually bought this one from me but I would have totally kept it if I didn't already have one so similar.

Gilli Arisha Striped Dress (KEEP)
This dress has a fun detail on the bottom where it is asymmetrical layered and is lower in the back. I wasn't sold on the color at first ( hot pink and tan/grey stripe) but loved it once it was on.

 Fun2Fun Terrance Lace Detailed Sleeveless Blouse (KEEP)
This shirt, along with the maxi skirt, was my favorite item in the box. I loved the lace and that ut could be worn with jeans on a skirt.

Octavia Emily Lightweight Chevron Infinity Scarf (KEEP)
When I opened this, It actually had a small hole/run in it. I emailed Stitch Fix and they got right back to me and said I could get a replacement for keep it with a 15% discount. I ended up getting ht e replacement and keeping this scarf because it was actually free when I chose to keep all items and got the 25% discount! Score!

Renee C Gabe Maxi Skirt (KEEP)
For anyone else who is short, you can understand how hard it is to find a maxi skirt that is actually a decent length without having to hike it up super high! Well this skirt fits amazingly and I knew I would keep it as soon as I tried it on.

Because I choose to keep all 5 items this fix, I got a 25% discount which saved me $55. So I basically got the scarf ($28) free and one shirt ($38) practically free!
If you haven't already, try out Stitch Fix. It is only $20 and that goes toward anything you purchase! Sign up here!
