6 months

Happy 1/2 Birthday Christian!

Monthly Stats:
Weight: 15 pounds 5 oz. (11%)
Length: 26 3/8 in (45%)
Head Circumference: 17 1/8 in (65%)

Clothing: 3 month-3/6 month clothes; size 2 diapers

Playtime: Christian love to laugh, be tickled, and sing the "Itsy Bitsy Spider". We read books daily, he loves his bouncer and continues his fascination with blue elephants. :)

Development: C is babbling, giggling, and sticking out his tongue. His new "trick" this month was blowing raspberries and making bubbles with his spit...lovely.  He still hates to roll over and doesn't like tummy time. He is trying to pull himself up to sit. At his appointment the doctor said his gums were swollen which means teeth are in our near future! Christian has developed a milk and soy allergy so that means no more milk or soy for Mama!

Firsts and Fun:
* blowing spit bubbles
*first after hours call to the doc- C had a "hair tourniquet" around his finger which caused a bad cut
* more playtime in crib
*bathtime using the Bumbo
* no more milk or soy!
*helped Mommy pack up her classroom
*Memorial Day at the Cabin
*first Father's Day
* found out his cousin is a GIRL!

Too Cute Tuesday

...because sometimes a picture is too cute not to share!

Toes!

Father's Day

This past Sunday was Father's Day and we had a great day celebrating as a family. (Unfortunately, my camera was dead and we couldn't find the charger so we have no pictures! tragic!)

Kerry hung out with C in the morning and had some great cuddle time before we had to get up and going for the day. After a waffle breakfast, we headed to church.  Kerry's request for the day was that he could do some yard work... so that is what he did! Until he was rained out. That evening we went to my parents for a delicious dinner and the men watched both golf and basketball. Give them steak and sports and they are happy!

I am so blessed to have my dad in my life and be such a great Papa to C. And Kerry loves C so much and is already a fabulous Daddy who is teaching him to love God and his family, to serve sacrificially and to laugh always!

Happy Father's Day!

Bathtime

It's official: C LOVES to take baths. He can be bawling his eyes out and as soon as his skin dips into that warm bathwater it is pure magic. He is all smiles and kicks and coos! We are having a hard time keeping him in his bath seat because he moves so much! He has also discovered how fun it is to splash the water... and his mama and daddy! And if he was not cute enough in the tub, wait till he is out. Those chubby dimpled cheeks are irresistible! hehe :)

Memorial Day Weekend

What a view!
We spent the last weekend up at the cabin for Memorial Day. After a long 4 hour drive with a crying baby, the lake was the perfect picture of rest for this mama! We spent the weekend taking naps, visiting family, laying flowers on family graves, walking, going to plain hardware (of course!) and wine tasting. Perfection!
admiring the lake :)

ready for a walk! (C fell asleep VERY shortly after this pic was taken!)

5 months!

Monthly Stats:
Weight: 14.5 lbs (at 5 1/2 months)

Clothing: 3 month and some 3-6 month pjs and pants; size 1 diapers but after this pack is gone he will be in 2s!

Playtime: I feel like Christian has truly turned into a social butterfly this month. He is constantly smiling, giggling, cooing, and babbling. My favorite little quirk of his right now if that he will smile at someone and then turn away like he is bashful. SO sweet! His favorite toy is his blue elephant and he still loves the activity mat where he can kick and grab and his bouncer.

Development: Christian is now rolling over although he doesn't like to very much. He can reach for and hold onto toys. He can now lift his head at a 90 degree angle. We are still battling the reflux with an even higher dose of Prevacid and giving it to him twice a day. (So funny to watch his face while he takes this. He has learned to purse his lips so I cent get it in his mouth and he swats the dropper away!)
Firsts and Fun:
* rolling from back to tummy
* out loud giggles
* singing along with his mama
* Mamaw babysat for the first time
* sleeping from 7pm to 7:30 am! Woohoo! (ok this doesn't happen EVERY night but a few times already!)
* No swaddle for naps- just a sleep sack
* Dedication
*Mother's Day
* park trips with Auntie Kyla and Grayson
