First Taste of Yogurt!

Since 6 months, Christian AND I have been off dairy and soy. Well at his 1 year check up we got the ok to slowly introduce some dairy into his diet... and mine! Wahoo! Here is a peak and C's first taste :)

Quirks

C is one quirky boy who defiantly has a mind and personality of his own. Here are a few of our favorite eccentric things about this little guy...

* He loves to pull of his socks. I could bet money that each time I go to take him out of the carseat that his socks WILL be off.

* When he gets really excited he squeals and screams

* He loves books and flips the pages so face you have to be a speed reader to get through a whole book with him

* C is VERY opinionated when it comes to what books he wants to read and will push away the ones he does not!

*Light switches are the best thing ever in his opinion. He loves switching them on and off.

* He thinks laundry is hilarious and loves to help take laundry out of the dryer and out of the hamper....while squealing!

C's Helmet

When Christian was first born, we noticed that he had a flat spot on one side of his head and that his forehead had one side that protruded more than the other. This was due to his placement in the uterus. Our pediatrician monitored this for a few months and at his 6 month appointment, she recommended that we see the cranial facial specialists at Childrens. The doctor at children's did some measurements and told us to come back in a few months and we would determine if C was improving on his own or if treatment was needed. A few months later and we came to the conclusion that helmet therapy would be a good solution or Christian. 

By October were were at Hanger Clinic getting scans and measurements done and but he first week of November C had his helmet. Unfortunately this helmet sis not fir him properly and caused him a bad bump on the head. So a few weeks later he was fitted for a second helmet. 

 He wears the helmet for 23 1/2 hours a day. Other than getting sweaty and stinky, he really doesn't seem to mind wearing it which is a huge blessing.

He has been in this helmet for a month and a half and since we caught him right before a growth spurt, it looks like he will only have to wear it a few more weeks! And then... a haircut!

Window Gazing

One of Christian's new favorite pastimes is looking out the window. He likes to point out everything he sees. We talk about the sky, trees, the weather, and the cars going by. It is so fun to see him taking in the world around him. Everything is so new and exciting! It is a great opportunity to begin to point him to the Creator and a great reminder of how amazing He is.

Family Park Outing

On New Years we decided to take C to the park. 

We went on the frosty swings and walked down to see the dogs playing at the dog park. 

He looked so hilarious and cute all bundled up!

Mornings

Christian loves to snuggle in bed in the mornings and quietly play with toys. It is truly one of my favorite times of day. It is usually still dark and quiet and Christian is so snuggly and wanting to give an abundance of kisses. This is especially nice on the weekends so Kerry and I can relax and have a nice cup of coffee in bed before starting the day. Such a treat!
